How did you hear about this brand?
Just doing some research online, and found this company. I liked the way they spoke about the quality of the product, and how it was easy to play. Meaning, it wasn't going to hurt my fingers, because of the way they design it.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I purchased a cheap guitar online about 2 months ago, and didn't like it at all due to the fact that it was really hard to play and hurt my fingers. This is actually my first guitar. It's comfortable and feels great. I have no idea how to play yet, but I absolutely love it.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Everything!!! It looks absolutely amazing, sounds great, they (Zager) upgraded the tuner, and it feel comfortable for me. I couldn't be more pleased. When I opened the box and saw how beautiful it was, it was blown away.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would have expected this guitar to cost a lot of money. Just from the price I saw in shopping around with this quality. These guys do amazing work for half the price.

How would you rate customer support?
Dennis Jr. was always in touch and would response almost immediately to any questions that I had about the guitar. They upgraded my tuner, and added the strap for me at no extra charge. I want to scream for the mountain tops how happy I am. Really, these guys are doing something special.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Most definitely! From the beginning, everything went smooth, and this guitar is off the chart. I am so proud to have the ZAD20E as my first guitar. I love it!!!!

Additional comments:
I felt like a little kid at Christmas opening the present that I had been wishing for all year. Now I am doing the online lessons that are on their website, and hopefully soon I will be up and running and playing like a champ. Simply put, I'm thrilled!!!!

How easy it is to play. No strain on my hands and cords are so easy to play. Not to mention the sound - outstanding!!

Yes. Makes playing much more fun (even if you are beginnner)

How did you hear about this brand?
I`ve never heard of Zager guitars, but since I subscribe to several guitar sites online, I received an email with a link to the Zager website. I find it amazing that I was practicing for many hours a day on my Fender or Ibanez acoustic, and complaining about how sore my fingers were, then out of nowhere, I got an email about an ez play guitar.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have 3 other acoustic guitars. One is my beloved Ovation which was a gift 30 years ago. It plays like butter and sounds great. It`s model number 1612. The only problem I have is the rounded back keeps slipping off my lap when I play. I`ve tried everything to stop this, but the only way to keep it from slipping is to use a strap all the time. My new Zager looks, plays and sounds just as wonderful as my Ovation, and of course, doesn`t slip off my lap. The action is nice and low, and the sound is rich and full. The finish is beautiful, and the electronics were upgraded to the Fishman 60 at no extra charge. The guitar with the original Fishman 10 was not in stock and the Zager`s didn`t want me to wait since I already paid for it.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
If I were to pick just one favorite part about this guitar, it would have to be the setup right out of the beautiful case it was shipped in. The action and string height is perfect! It plays so easy (hence the name)and sounds full and rich. Usually, when a guitar has low action and a tad lighter string gauge, the sound suffers a bit and is not as bright. This guitar is absolutely sweet sounding and can be played loud or soft with no buzzing or tone loss whatsoever. The tuners, finish, and electronics are all quality as well, and this guitar sounds fantastic plugged in or not.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would gladly pay $1500.00 to $2,000.00 dollars for this guitar after I played it and saw for myself how comfortable and perfect it feels in your hands or on your lap. The finish is deep and not a single flaw anywhere. The stitched hard case is a steal even if I paid $150.00 dollars for it (which I didn`t). It was half that!

How would you rate customer support?
Customer support is impeccable. Every time I emailed Danny, I received a response within the hour. To me, the service you get, and the professionalism to which I was given, is as important as the product itself. This is the first company I`ve dealt with, where I felt like I was the most important person in the world. When my particular guitar wasn`t in stock, I was offered the exact same one that had upgrades at no charge. I asked if they sold straps, and Danny graciously threw one in for free.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would highly recommend buying your next guitar from Zager. It`s kind of risky buying something like a guitar without actually playing it first for 20 minutes or so. Not only does it have to look like a quality product, but it has to feel and play like it`s part of you. The more comfortable and natural it feels, the better you will play. You can buy other guitars that are setup at the factory for general playing, but the setup on my Zager is like I paid extra to have it setup perfectly just for me. That`s because of Denny`s years of expertise and experience. He sets up and test plays every guitar before it`s shipped. I even have a picture that they sent to me, showing Denny with MY guitar in his hands being played and tested.

Additional comments:
Don`t be fooled by the negative things that people can say on the internet. Do your homework. Look at the guarantee and pride that company`s put into their product. Look at the customer service. Read and see for yourself all the satisfied (and some very well known people)are saying about the product. You can`t please every one. How can anyone offer a full, money back guarantee, including shipping, if you don`t like it, and stay in business? This decision is a no brainer.

surfing the web, trying to find a repair center for my Taylor 110, but I found you instead. Lucky me.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Its better than the Taylor Chinese 110. It plays almost as soft as my Cort M900. The sounds are better than any guitar I picked up and tested. This Company seems to care. Not like the Guitar Centers or other retailers. That means everything to me!

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It plays and looks like one of those 3000 dollars Martins hanging on the wall in the Guitar Center. You know what? Its better.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
3000 dollars is a lot of money to a retired military guy. But I do know the price of this guitar and its worth a lot more to me.

How would you rate customer support?
Outstanding

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
No, but yes. I want to them to envy me for a while. And show them how a USA guitar should sound and play.

Its too new and I am infatuated. Time will tell. I hope its like a good wine that betters with age.

Absolutely first rate, 5 star. They give immediate response and go out WAY of their way to fulfill your needs. You have access to the Zagers themselves!

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
This guitar is excellent in every way. Great construction, beautiful finish, beautiful and smooth tuners, great full sound both acoustically and through the on-board Fishman preamp. Equally competent with both strumming and finger-style. Low action for fast finger-style and yet no buzz with hard strumming (when used with Zager strings).

Additional comments:
I have a friend that played every Martin D28 he could find all over Ohio before picking one out...he likes my ZAD80ED just as well. What a great confidence builder that you can return the guitar and Zager pays the shipping if you do not like it. Nothing to loose really.

I own 10 guitars, The #1 guitar is a Martin HD28. The ZAD20e is rated #2. Beautiful sound and easy to play.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
My favorite part of this guitar is the low action. I do a lot of finger picking so I like very low action. I adjusted the action in 2 minutes with no buzzing.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
In the past I've paid a lot more for lower quality guitars.

How would you rate customer support?
On a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, I rate the customer service 12. Try calling Martin or Taylor and see if you get imediate response like Zager. With those companies, you would have to wait till the year 2525, LOL.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would absolutely recommand this guitar for beginner or expert. I have been playing guitar for 20 years and have owned a lot of guitars and I have never experienced better customer service than with Zager Guitar.

I have a Martin D18 and an Olson. While this is valued far less it plays easier than both of them and sounds quite bright while full at the same time. Plays much easier than any Taylor I ever played and Taylors are great guitars.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The value combined with nice well bodied sound.

Absolutely. Why spend thousands on a guitar when you can buy a very nice guitar for around $200. Also it plays so easy and will be perfect for someone learning as well as veterans.

I have been using guitar lessons from MartyIn my brief Schwartz and Justin coe on u tube and it pops up their add occasionally.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
In my brief experience, I have had a dean a benett signature and have played high end Ibanez Gibsons and Taylors. If given the opportunitie to trade my zager zad20 for one of these costing from 6 to 4 times s much I would sell them buy another zager and take my wife (AND MY NEW ZAGER) On a beach weekend with the change and be just tickled.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Sound set up and playability.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
comparing it to the ones I played at guitar center and what they cost 5 to 6 times as much as it did. 515 with shipping to my door in California Just amazing.

How would you rate customer support?
If every company in the us gave the customer service of Zager guitar their would not be a dissatisfied customer anywhere. I emailed them sat morning thanking them, within an hour still sat morning I received a reply I am sure written by Dennis jr. I am extremely critical of customer service and believe in this gimmy world we live in it is a lost art.. if everyone had the confidence in their product as they do we would not rely on imports. To say I am impressed would be a shortfall. I am 53 yrs young and in my life have never received such personal service I am in awe.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
You try one and you will Know read the testimonys have your doughts order with confidace and when you receive what will be your musical prize possession you will also take the time to make a review like this I guarantee it.

Out of the box I was pleased with this quality instrument. at first I still buzzed a little after about two hours I came alive faster changes my wife (local critic) said wow you are getting a lot better I cant wait to explore more songs, The out orf reach :c: chord rings true and clear I believe it is the arrow not the indian that is making it possible.

my zager is awesome, my other guitar feels cheap, manufactured and has sound that is just not pleasing to the ear, like my zager. my zager has a sound that is like heaven, just sounds expensive in it self.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
my favorite part is I can play for 2 hours and no hurting hands, honestly, my old guitar I would play 20 min. and would have to quit because my hands were just pounding and very sore. not no more. playing guitar is just totally pleasing these days, no more pain.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would say like 1200 dollars or more. and the reason is, the sound and feel of the guitar is nothing but quality. honest. I am in fact buying another one, because I love the first one so much. I promise you, you will not regret buying one.

top notch. they always get back to you, in a quick and friendly manner. even though some of my questions might be a little stupid, they still always answer them,, just awesome people.

yes I would, and the reason is no more pain playing the guitar, and you can get to the frets faster, so you can learn, and play easier. just a great great guitar. I would say compares to martin and taylor, and who can afford them.

I have 6 or 7 guitars...include tree Martin...one model D15 one D18 Vintage (a super guitar)and i have too a model DX1 made in Mexico sure is not the same quality , but i like to play with.My new Zager ZAD20 , it's another thing....I wanted this guitar to understand what mean EZ-Guitar...Now i know, ans i am very happy to get one.

I thing first...is the feeling when you have in hand...it's smouth, the toutch is wonderfull all along the neck...Very eazy to play and got a very nice sound...full colors..I call it Rimbow......

This ZAD20 Sunburst,is a great guitar!!!It plays like a High end guitar.Most higher end guitars are very sensitive. The ZAGER is set up great,right out of the box!!!Balance,to-nation,play ability,EASY TO PLAY!!!!!!!!!!I play all kinds of music,this guitar is versatile. The sound is sweet.No flat spots!!

Easiest I have ever played including some high dollar Martins. Sound is almost as good as the Martins.

For me it is the "creme de la creme" No comparison in any way to others I tried in any way....The quality of workmanship, tone and beauty is way above the frey of any out there as i see it.. I am so thankful i was led to my purchase of a Zager Guitar.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It is so beautiful and the sound is such as it leads me to want to stick with learning more and more of each day...as a beginner on guitar everyone is telling me what a great sound and how well i am doing. Add to this, my fingers don't get sore and this is a great motivation to keep on learning. I am totally in love with my Zager guitar.

most likely many times over what i paid. knowing what I know now I wouldn't sell mine for the price I paid...I'd have to say I just know what i've seen out there this one would sell for at least 1500 to 2,000.00 and I wouldn't sell mine for any price...

Above anything out there.....unbelievable really.....restores one's faith in the same..Zager is a company I am proud to be a part of....Competition coud learn a lot from them....they make you feel so good and are so prompt in answering any questions you may have. For me I am so thankful I was led their way. They are the greatest!

Being a customer and a proud owner of a Zager Guitar I cannot recommend enough for anyone out there considering a guitar to give Zager a try...They have the best trial time to see for yourself at no cost should you want to return the same. They take time to answer all your questions in record time within hours....The integrity of their workmanship, customer service and all is unbelievable. I've been a business owner for many years and can tell you straight up this company is truly dedicated to the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction ever. Internet commercial. I always skip them but...something caught my eye and I am glad I took the time to watch and listen to Dennis.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
It's the finest guitar I have ever owned or played. Best sound, best action and it is such a beautiful instrument to look at. I've played Martin's, Taylor's, Yamaha's, Takamine, etc...this is better than any one of those brands, in my opinion. Seriously.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Difficult question; it's looks, sound, playability. Everything is top notch. The tuning pegs are fantastic. They lock in and stay there. Best tuning pegs I've ever experienced. Changing the strings and cleaning/polishing it are so enjoyable, to me anyways.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
At least $1,200.00.

How would you rate customer support?
Second to none. Dennis, Dennis Jr and Jill all communicated with me, and very quickly. There was a unique shipping problem with my ZAD20E and it took almost 20 days to arrive. They did everything in their power to correct the situation. I can't ask for more than that. An external factor, that was absolutely no fault of Zager guitar co. Their customer support with me was awesome, and very much appreciated.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes, and I have been since the day I picked it up. Every person who has played it loves it. I tell them the web page and company name, and explain they should seriously consider purchasing one of these guitars.

My forte is playing drums. I'm a simple rhythm/campfire kind of guitarist. I don't practice leads, scales, arpeggios, solo type stuff, and that's fine with me. Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Zeppelin, Eagles...whatever. It's easy to play (basic chords), that stuff and it sounds so clear and pure on this Zager. I've had it since September 21st, 2013. I haven't played guitar for 12 years prior to buying this beauty. Guitar is simply a fun side thing for me to do and I have never enjoyed playing more than I am now. I had to wait a few months to submit a fair review on it. It's the best guitar I have ever played, and I hope to but a higher end Zager model in a year or two. My best wishes to all at Zager Co. I actually found the Zager by accident while looking at some You Tubes of older singing groups which led me to a tube of "In the year...." which got me too Dennis Sr and Jr site. Had not heard of it before but very glad i did. Dennis Sr can be proud of his instruments and Denny Jr does a great on line marking job bot build brand.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have not played for many years and divested of the guitars i have had for lack of playing them - fine guitars should be played and not sit in a case. I have had a Martin (D28) and a Taylor (800 series if i recall). Both were quite expensive instruments. In my view, my 20CE plays and sounds equal to my ear so I am very very pleased given I'd set a budget to get something good under $1000.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I think Dennis Sr has great skill in construction of his instruments if mine is an example. It is finely finished and put together very well. It looks like a much more expensive instrument than what I paid. I also like the cutaway design (first time I've had onw). Also like the Fishman electronics, especially the tuner part - makes things real easy.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I told Dennis Jr when I advised him that my guitar had arrived that it looked and played like one that would be AT LEAST double in a retail setting - so that would be $1500 +

How would you rate customer support?
Excellent! Dennis Jr was terrific in answering all my questions and arranged shipment for me in a tight window (I am from Canada but had the guitar shipped ot a hotel I was staying at while on a golf vacation). It all worked out perfectly. And Dennis' responsiveness is next to none. Dennis do you sleep with you computer? (lol)

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Absolutely! And I suspect this would be true for any of Denny's models given now having mine. I think the fact that the Wager company has gone direct is helpful to those, like me, wanting a fine guitar at a very good price by not paying for middlemen and retail markups. Nice job Wagers!

Now that I've done business with Wager i would want to tell others that you can trust these folks. I was legitimately skeptical buying sight unseen. But I decided to give it a try as Dennis was very forthright in dealing with me. I am very pleased with the whole transaction. On doing some research before ordering, i did find, as is the case in the internet world, some negative comments. Baed on my experience, i find these comments quite unfair frankly and suggest they be ignored if you want a very nice quitar, well made, great sounding, for a reasonable price -- great value for the money. The only thing i am not sure about is the 'EZ play" aspect. My guitar plays just fine but my memory bank tells me that it may not be too different from my old guitars, both of which were professionally set up. I suspect this is a personal "feel" or judgement thing and there is an art to good set up and folks like different things. This is not a negative at all as I think anyone purchasing a Zager guitar will find the set up Denny offers quite acceptable (out of the box!!)

I would put my zad20 up against almost any Martin, Fender or Taylor for playability and tone. As far as price, there's no comparison. Zager wins hands down.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Playability, no doubt. This guitar is so easy to finger and barre and you can play for an hour without having deep ridges in your callous pads. It's a joy to pick up.

I'd say a comparable guitar would cost at least $1200-$1500.

Dennis and the whole crew are great. They really care about you having a great experience with your custom instrument.

Originally, I ran across them on E-bay. But this purchase is number two for me. I liked my ZAD20 so much I decided to get an 80CE. Everyone who has played my ZAD20CE has told me how much they like the sound and playability.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have played many different guitars throughout my life. I personally own a Takemine EF-349 mahogany body guitar and a ZAD20CE. The 80CE is comparable in playability to the 20 CE but it has a little different tone quality. It's made of different woods so I would expect it to sound different. I love both my Zager guitars so it is difficult for me to put one against the other. When compared the 80CE to the Takemine, it has a much brighter sound, more strength overall in tone and yet is doesn't sacrifice depth in the lows. I believe this 80 CE will continue to grow in sound quality as if ages and settles in. I thoroughly enjoy playing it.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I absolutely adore the finish and quality of construction.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would not be surprised to find this guitar with a $1500-$2000 range.

How would you rate customer support?
The customer support at Zager Guitars is second to none. I must share a short story to illustrate what I mean. Two weeks ago Sunday, my ZAD20CE was being played by a friend on stage at church. The guitar was accidentally dropped and struck a metal part of the stage on it's way to the floor. This resulted in splitting the head right through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd string tuners. It did not break, but it split t he wood. It also cracked the body adjacent to the neck. I was crushed when I saw it happen. I had no idea what I was going to do. So I sent Dennis Zager an e-mail on Sunday morning, asking what could be done. I had no reason to believe I would get a response the same day. I thought surely it would be Monday before I got a response. But within the hour. I received a response. Not only did I get a response, he checked his inventory to see if I could get a replacement guitar right away. THAT'S Customer service at it's best.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I have already recommended Zager Guitars to every guitarist I know. I will continue to do so as often I am able. I consider my Zager guitar to equivalent or better than many higher priced big named guitars out there. I believe in the personal touch that Dennis Zager gives every guitar before it is shipped.

I've been playing small body (0 & 00) Martin guitars for fifty years. The Zager Parlor has a fuller, ringing sound, and the ease of play is remarkable. The craftsmanship is just as good if not superior to any Martin, Gibson, or Guild.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
For a body that measures between an 0 and 00, the sound is fantastic - and as big as a 000-18 or 28.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Not a dollar less than $1,750.00.

How would you rate customer support?
It's superb. It's a small, family run business, and they can't do enough for you. There's a personal connection immediately and I felt valued.

I recommend Zager guitars to anyone, including beginners, professionals, and especially older players like me who have mitigating factors like arthritis. When they say there's no string bite, they are absolutely accurate.

When something seems too good to be true, it almost always is. But these guitars are even better than promised, with a fit and finish that's incomparable. I've made the "pilgrimage" to Nazareth, PA, to the Martin factory. Martin has been like a second religion for me - I do believe I've just converted!

Well, I have had many old guitars, Martins, Breedloves, Larrivee's, Gibson's I've owned them all......HONESTLY, the Mahogany ZAD20E compares tonally with any of them. I'm not going to claim that it is better, but it is at least as good as any of them. The Zager treatment really does make it easier to play. The strings that come with Zager are a little lighter than I like and with the lighter gauge there is a reduced volume and the old E and B always seem a little out of tune which is true with any guitar that I've ever owned, but that is easily remedied by putting a set of 12-53' on. Tunes normally, much more projection with the heavier gauge. Now the funny thing is that even with the heavier gauge strings it is still easier to play. LOL, I love it.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The TONE and projection.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Between 500.00 and $800.00

How would you rate customer support?
Couldn't be any better. Dennis Jr. right on top of things and is there to make you happy. Customer Service is quite remarkable.

Definitely YES! You get a guitar that sounds as good as the more expensive guitars, looks great and is easier to play than most out there.

There is a lot of Zager bashing out on the internet. I wish people would grow up and stop that crap. Denny Zager offers something a little different than the norm and should be praised for it. Most other manufacturers do not set up their guitars and you have to spend extra money to get the setup. Some are satisfactory but Zager's are perfect.....I will attest that if they are not perfect it will be exchanged. I can make that statement because there was a problem with the first one that I had, I wrote Dennis Jr and he promptly sent me another guitar. He didn't feel that I should have ANY problems with a new guitar. He took care of it immediately.

My retained personal collection is of guitars appproximately 40-20 years old and matured. Therefore, a fresh guitar is not going to be what a really good mature guitar is going to be. At my age I don't consider buying a guitar as a competitor to a quality seasoned guitar and... in this case I purchased it as a gift to my son who plays very similar to the methods of Denny Zager and his philosophy. I think I picked a 'matched' pair in this purchase consideration.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The custom structural setup!!!

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I've cheated a bit on this one before purchasing. I researched the 'major' established competitors and several custom shops for precisely this build less the custom setup. The customs with solid wood and or HPL sides and bottom were $1400-2000'ish, some with and some without the electronics. All of these were with A or lessor grade volume production woods. Gibson, Martin etc., all have models and like woods with the HPL sides and bottoms and their pricing runs from just under a 1K to upwards of $2000....all have some trade-off points between them. That being said, the Zager lineup is a reasonable BARGIN aside from the custom setup their guitars are built around.

How would you rate customer support?
The family character and customer support is straight from an era long past and missing from todays generations of the business world! I have NO reason(s) to believe that it goes well beyond purchasing and throughout the life of the company and the guitar. It seems to be rooted deep in their gene pool!

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I certainly would recommend to anybody seeking and striving to improve their music skills or a go-around for any physiological problems they may encounter. That said, there is a large segement in the music world who would consider the Zager system as irrelevant to their playing style and perception of music from a stringed instrument so consideration of the Zager system is probably not in their sight...right now.

I heard about these guitars quite by accident. I needed a case for my Martin 12string I bought locally. Zagers' were selling a Martin case on Ebay along with a t-shirt. I was the winning bidder but didnt know until I got the shirt and started investigating Zager guitars about the company. I was also surprised to learn that Danny Zager was the same Zager of Zager and Evans fame with the song "in the year 2525" I loved that song when I was in college. I kept seeing Zager "easy play" guitars being offered on Ebay so I started investigating them further. So, I bought my Zad20e along with a case and I love it. It is now my go to guitar.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
The looks are fantastic and the playability is effortless. I have a $3000.00 guitar that rarely gets played. And now I play my Zager almost exclusively.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
My favorite part is the ease of playability. My hands and fingers are sore with arthritis so I makes playing chords or fingering notes so much easier. I spend more time playing now that I have my new Zager guitar.

I would price this guitar in the $1500 to $2000 price range.

How would you rate customer support?
The Zager company bent over backwards to make me a satisfied customer. I think I sent around 10 or more emails one morning trying to make up my mind and each one was answered in a matter of minutes if not seconds. They let me put down a small down payment and told me they would hold the guitar and case indefinitely for me. However, I couldn't wait so paid the balance off within a month.

I have been chatting this guitar up to anyone and everyone. Those that play it are amazed especially when I tell them what it cost me because they all are thinking a much higher dollar amount.

The Zager Parlor is supreme in most ways to my 40+ year old solid mahogany Harmony. Compared to other guitars I've recently checked out, I believe there's not a better guitar for me in this price range.

Playing the Zager Parlor for several months now (March to July 2013) I'd have to say, the SOUND QUALITY plus playability.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$700.00. Believe it, it's the bling and all the extra production care that makes exclusive and pricey guitars. I wanted a simple unadorned guitar and got way more as a surprise.

How would you rate customer support?

Absolutely yes! I'd want any guitar player to know about the quality of the Zager guitar line.

Although I'm not a pro player, I was an apprentice luthier back in the mid 70s in Toronto Canada. I learned what to look for in a quality guitar. Now that I'm semi-retired, and have a little more free time, I wanted to upgrade to a better practice guitar and I've definitely found it in the Zager product line. I've got a slower hand now, and I'm not a wannabe, but every time I see that cool hard shell Zager case, I want to open it up and play for another hour or two. I'm having fun relearning and improving technique, and I believe my ZAGER Parlor hog is making it easier. I have two Spanish-built Cordoba classical guitars, which really can't be compared to steel-stringed instruments. I also own a Martin Eric Clapton signature model and a Zager D-80. I bought the mahogany Travel to have something I can easily take on my many road trips. I didn't expect a deep-throated instrument equal to the two full-size guitars, and it doesn't have that tone. It's a physical impossibility. But it's a much higher-quality sound than I anticipated. I love it. It compares more than favorably with the Little Martin.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The fact that the fingering is so easy and the quality of the sound. I anticipated that the neck might be too narrow for my fingers, but it's fine.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
At least twice the $345 that I paid for it.

How would you rate customer support?
Nothing short of fantastic. I think Denny Zager lives at his computer just to be able to jump in with answers to emails as soon as they hit his screen.

Absolutely. For all the reasons above.

Set up is much better than the gibson , the gospel always seemed to have a issue with the setups . All the 5-8 hundred dollars guitars are all made out of laminate , Tried a few just don't like the sound . This zager blows them away . And i have only had this guitar a few weeks .

Highest quality guitar I've owned. My other guitar is an Epiphone Nova 295. It plays well but not as easy as the CE80. I've tried Martins, and assorted others at Guitar Center at prices from $200.00 to $3200.00. This guitar plays as well or better than most of them.

The ease of play is great. Also, the guitar is beautiful with nice appointments. Sound quality is fantastic and I've yet to try other string brands.

This experience caused me to try the CE80 which I will keep.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have and have had many guitars throughout my life. I have owned Gibson, Fender, Martin, Yamaha, Condor, Carlos, Ovation and a whole slew of lessor named guitars. From the moment I took the guitar case out of the shipping box, I was impressed by how nice and well made the case is. Upon opening the case I was really surprised by how good looking the guitar is. However my biggest surprise was how great this guitar sounded. Having played for 60 years since I was 5 years old, I have never had a guitar that was perfect right out of the box. Until now. Every note on the entire neck was perfect pitch. Denny does an outstanding job of fine tuning and making sure that every aspect of the guitar is perfect. Thank you Denny.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Well, I love everything about this guitar, obviously. But my favorite thing is the ease of playing. My old arthritic hands have a hard time playing for more than 20 - 30 minutes with my other guitars. I have been able to play for hours on end with this guitar. I play many different styles but I really like finger picking i.e. Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Jerry Reed, Doc Watson etc. I am just blown away by the clarity, and sustain and how rich and warm the lows and mids are and how bright and clear the highs. Overall just one super fantastic guitar for the money.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Having purchased many guitars in my life, I know that half of the price of a guitar is just the name on the headstock. The music store has to mark up the price big time just to keep their doors open. So, an in store price for this quality would probably be $1595.00 to $2295.00 plus tax. Thanks to the Zager Factory for allowing us to purchase direct. What a huge savings over retail music stores.

How would you rate customer support?
I have not needed to use the customer support, However, KUDOS to Dennis Jr. for his quick and honest answers to all of my many questions.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Simply, Price, Quality. This model compares to any Martin, Gibson, Ovation, Guild, that I have ever played.

I bought an Aria acoustic about 35 years ago, but never really learned to play it. I have a relatively small hand and the Aria frustrated me to the point it sat in my closet for years. I was interested in the Zager as it was described as easy to play. I love the feel of the Zager Parlor, and it fits my hands well.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It feels very easy to play. I love the position of the strings.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
500.00-600.00

How would you rate customer support?
In a word, Incredible. Every email sent is responded to within minutes. Denny helped me decide which guitar best fit my needs.

Absolutely. The quality and finish of this instrument is A+. It is very easy to play even for me, a beginner.

A little story about this purchase. I will be. 61 April 1 and my wife asked what I wanted for my birthday. I told her a guitar. She told me to go find one. Enter Denny Zager. I sent him an email inquiry asking first was I too old to learn. I have not picked up a guitar in over 30 years. He coached me on what he though would be the best instrument to learn with and even found a brand new Parlor in their scratch and dent area. Long story short, I received the guitar within a week of ordering it and I love it.. I have a relatively small hand and it fits it perfectly. How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
It is comparable with low end Epiphones and Martins. The finish is done well but not over the top. The Grover tuners are not high end but work very "grover tuner" well. I own a few guitars that are set up by a local well-known luthier and the Zager plays as well if not better than the current setup I have.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The back radius of the neck and the taper fits my hand. It plays well right out of the box. Nice quality fitted case.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Honestly about what I paid for it with the case...around $450. It's good value for the money.

How would you rate customer support?
Support is outstanding. I don't think it will change

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes. Get past the advertising needed to get website traffic and try one...you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal off the shelf or as conveniently. IF I wanted to send it back I don't think there would be any questions asked. Dennis Jr has been nothing but top notch with answers and response.

Additional comments:
After an impulsive buy I have since done additional research looking for similar setup and quality. I purchased my guitar because the money back guarantee seemed legit and I wanted time to "test-drive". I have honestly found no other guitars that "off the shelf" are worth the money. Every higher end guitar I have played ($200-1400 range) since getting the Zager Parlor would need a setup to play as well with the additional cost of a hard case. The Zager's do get panned for marketing but get one delivered, actually playing it and looking at the value for the dollar makes getting one worthwhile in my opinion. TO get a guitar that plays as well would cost more money and time and expense to get it dialed in by hand by a luthier. Zager's work on many levels which I didn't really expect, and have made deciding to keep it easier. This is my honest opinion and it is in no way influenced by Zager except for the fact that I now own one. I also own 1943 Epiphone Blackstone, Epiphone AJ220S, Fender Strat,Martin LX1, Hofner Shorty, & Rogue A-style Mando. I have no particular style I just play guitar to amuse myself.

Every business should learn Zager's Customer Support. I mean, how can you beat getting to try it out, and if you don't like it, send it back and they pay the return shipping. I did it with the 900 model they had. Didn't like it for the price, but I was a know nothing novice. Sent it back and got the 20 Mahog. Loved it so much I bought the 80 a year later. Now I wish that I had all three, instead of just the two. Would love to have a 900 again, as now I understand. I might even pay more if Denny comes up with a "Super Model" of what he thinks the ultimate guitar is.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I already do. These are top of the line, hand made and crafted custome guitars. You'll see that there is only one of two available at a time.

If I haven't said enough, Dennis is great. He handles all the web stuff. You couldn't find a nicer guy to talk to. I grew up in the era of his dads songs, so it's all good and mellow with great support and quick responses to emails.

not as well as my martin but nicer playing guitar,I have owned this one for 6 yrs. and I keep going back to play it more then my martin.it is nice to finger the neck which is 3'4at the nut has a nice feel and makes it easy to finger pick,also it is great to flat pick for playing blue grass music,the sound is full sound when using med.set of strings. great for playing long hours and or studio sessions,it is well built and has a sound of higher priced guitar, so for the price you can't beat it

the neck,it has a wonderful feel and is great to flat pick or finger pick

I don't really remember how I found out about Zager guitars. I am guessing it was over the internet. It took me several years before I took the plunge. I wish I had bought one right away.

I have been playing guitar for over 40 years. I have owned quite a few guitars and I have played some other fine guitars as well. To my recollection, I have never played an acoustic guitar which was as easy to play as my Zager guitar. The action is the best that I have experienced on an acoustic guitar.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
This is a tough question because it has many features but I would have to say the ease of playing.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I am no expert in this area but would say at least twice what I paid. I have played a Martin while being fine guitars, were not as easy to play as my Zager.

How would you rate customer support?
The customer service is unequaled. I am amazed at the communications. Most times when I sent an email asking a question, I received a response in minutes. I am not kidding!!!

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
In my opinion, if you are serious about learning to play acoustic guitar, do not waste your time on any other guitar. If you are an experienced player you should have a Zager guitar. The rest of your guitars will soon be gathering dust and you will start thinking about listing them on Craigslist.

I bought a ZAD80CE early this year; I have already reviewed that guitar. I liked it so much that I wanted another model, and started looking at the top of the line, the ZAD900.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I am thrilled with this guitar. If you see my review of the 80ce, you can tell how much I like it. When I found out that the ZAD900 was not going to be continued, I bought the last one in inventory as an early birthday present. This guitar is a work of art on every level. I understand that Denny spends extra time setting up these 900's, and I could tell it immediately. It has an even lighter touch than my 80ce. The 80ce has a cedar top, while the 900 has spruce. They are different guitars with the different tops and the absence of the electronics in the 900. I play them every day, interchangebly, depending on whether I'm upstairs or downstairs. I guess the best way to explain it is that the 80ce is an elegant instrument, while the 900 is like playing a piece of art.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Now that I've been playing Zager guitars for a while, I guess I have to admit that my favorite part of the 900 is simply using it to learn from Denny's lessons. I don't think about the guitar when I play, because it takes care of itself. The light action makes it easy to feel linked directly to the music. I think that's about as good as it gets. Oh, it is beautiful! But the lessons enable me to turn that beauty into music like I've always wanted to play.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would not know. I have never played anything like the ZAD900, because I don't think that there is anything comparable. Knowing the guitar now, I would certainly have paid more for it than I paid. Don't tell Dennis!

How would you rate customer support?
I would rate it as the very finest I've ever encountered.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I not only would, I helped my neighbor decide on his Zager. His Martin stays locked up, and the Zager is what he plays.

A couple of years ago I was listening to the Michael Savage talk show on the radio. I heard your commercial for Zager guitars several times and it stuck in my mind.

I have had a few guitars over the years, mostly cheaper guitars. I never gave it much thought and figured most guitars were about the same. That is until I recieved this beautiful instrument. It plays very easy and the sound seems to leap out.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The finish is superb, no sharp edges and it feels very comfortable to play. The fine string action makes chording very easy.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I happend to be in a music store recently and as you would figure there were many guitars on display. My ZAD20 would compare with the Guitars in the $800.00 to $900.00 range. The thing that really makes me feel good about my Zager guitar is knowing it is hand made right here in the United States.

Dealing with a company on the computer can always be a challange. I found the customer service very prompt. I ordered my guitar on a Tuesday and it was in my hands on Friday morning.

YES. I have already shared the Zager web site with friends of mine. I do this with pride knowing I have a beautiful guitar that will last a lifetime.

No comparison. My new ZAD80CE is by far superior to the guitar I was using. I am 79 yrs of age and just learning to play. Having a lot of fun,but wasn't doing well with the Fender acoustic I was using. My ZAD80CE is much easier to play, easy on the fingers by comparison. Makes me want to learn and play.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I have many faviorite parts about this guitar. Sound in far superior to my fender. Playability is a very big favorite. Looks, it is a beautiful instrument, well crafted.

I would have guessed in the $1500 to $2000 range, but I am not an expert on guitars.

Wow, I have never dealt with a company like this in my entire life. Customer care and support is the best I have seen, period. Dennis and his Dad are so supportive and helpful to their customers, willing to go all out to satisfy and assist.

Without a doubt, I am going to introduce members of my Church band to this guitar. I would recommend this guitar to everyone and anyone. Most especially to people just learning to play. What else can I say. As I said, I'm 79 yrs old and just learning. I was having great difficulty with the fender acoustic I was using, and couldn't practice but for a few minutes at a time because of sore fingers. The ZAD80CE changed all this for me, now I am practicing everyday for longer periods of time and enjoying it immensley. I am encouraged to stay with it with this guitar. What a joy, and what fun I am having. The icing on the cake with this guitar is the company, customer care and service is above reproach and makes everything just that much better. Am one of the few people to whom is given the best guitars I play. The guitar Zager ZAD 20 is the best model of metal-string acoustic guitars can only be mentioned. Electronics has been spoken professional looking custom-made guitars that sound. I think the Guild or Gibson acoustic modelleivel first small series can be compared! Each guitar is a one Allman sound. This simple model is able to speak beautifully, without electronic effects and manipulation that is reviewed every need!

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Clearly a unique work. A real American dream. This instrument has a soul.

Stated in this model are ordered for $ 3000 and 5000. I think it is under-priced! Nalla customs cooperation in Europe has not reached its real value! Zager gift given with much that is already worth the $ 500. Dedicated pictures, Strings gifts, t-shirt, and professional packaging: Do not forget about the fact that it was now so many sold for years but this will be an invaluable instrument price!

After the happy owner of one such instrument, unintentionally ending up in a community where the order is still not leave him alone! This is a nice guitar, I currently have a Seagull S6 Original and a Blueridge BR40AS. They are both good guitars, but the Zager beats them hands down.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Besides looking good, I like the way it plays.........sounds good, feels good.

I would guess $800 maybe $900 but that's not the point. I've had $800-$900 guitars that don't play or look as good as this.

Haven't had the "opportunity" to check it out but my e-mails to Dennis Jr prior to my purchase were answered quickly. Try getting a quick response from some other guitar companies.

Absolutely.....the quality of this guitar, at this price, lifetime warranty plus, if you don't like it send it back at no charge.......there's nothing to lose.

This guitar is in no way short of any quality that you would expect to find in a Martin etc. In fact I find it to be a much nicer looking guitar with a warmer tone & excellent sound qualities, and tuning that holds tune. This acoustic guitar blows away any other guitars that I have ever owned.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I was considering purchasing a Martin guitar, but when I found the Zager site & read the reviews & testimonies I decided to take a chance and try the Zager. I am very pleased that I decided to go this way, as it saved me some serious cash + the quality in my opinion exceedes that of the Martin, which everyone already knows Martin is an excellent guitar company.

I am fairly new to playing the guitar so my opinion may not mean as much as a seasoned player but I had two guitars that I started with. They were cheapies and were hard to play but at the time I didn't know there were easier guitars out there to play. The quality and sound of the cheap guitars compared to the Zager are miles apart. Similar to a Yugo and a BMW! You get what you pay for certainly pertains in this instance.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I got the Sunburst and love the look! But I have to say the ease of play and the sound are the things that stand out the most. They say the sound gets better with age but if it never got better I would still love it.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I started looking at guitar prices as soon as I took it up and I priced many online and a few in the stores. Zager could double the price of the Zad20 and still be in the ballpark.

How would you rate customer support?
I got almost instant feedback from Dennis when I asked a few questions. Amazing in this day and age to get this kind of support. On a scale of 1-10 it is 10plus.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would not hesitate to reccommend it to friends. It would be doing them a favor.

I bought a Zad20 at a discount because of a minor blemish. I have yet to find the blemish and I have looked at every square inch! I got a exceptional guitar at a discount..priceless!
