How did you hear about this brand?
Well i think i first saw one of your guitars on ebay. So i thought i would research it a little. and so i typed in zager gutars and then i read all the reviews and after that it was just clear to me that if i wanted to play the best i can then i needed to have a zager.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
this guitar is far above the other guitars i have had the sound is so rich and full and the strings feel so much better on my fingers

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
WOW thats a hard question because i love everything about it but i guess if i had to choose it would be thr quality of the sound and the ease of play

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
oh i would have to say well over a 15 hundred to 2 thousand

How would you rate customer support?
customer support if wonderful i did have a few questions before i bought mine and dennis jr answered all of my questions very-very quickly couldn't be more pleased

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
yes i would recommend this guitar to others i have already told so many of my friends how great this guitar isand if they ever buy a new guitar i told them to just not waste their time and just buy a zager.

I just wanted to say that words just can't express how good this guitar is. the workmanship is awsome the case is really great.The sound of this guitar will just blow you away. I honestly do not think that there is a better guitar on the market at this time the price is fair the quality is amazing the waranty is very good . although i don't think you will ever have to use it. I know i will be purchasing their top model just as soon as i get better at playing. Thanks again Mr Zager for such a wonderful- amazing -awsome guitar!!!!!!!

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have had Martins and the Zager is comparable if NOT superior for a much more reasonable price

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
There is no one particular favorite part. It plays and sounds incredible. The workmanship is fantastic and the response by the Zagers is incredible

How would you rate customer support?
Customer support on a scale od 1-10 is a 15

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Most definitely. I have recommended this company in the past and will continue to do so

If something were to happen to this beautiful instrument I would definitely rep;ace her with another Zager. I am curious to see what the new flagship model sounds like. Can't imagine how much better because this one sounds and plays fantastic

I was shopping for a higher end Martin. While I was checking out the offers on e-bay, I saw the Zager guitars. I found the web-site and checked out all the reviews on Google and Yahoo. Saw I had nothing to loose with the offer.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
This guitar surpasses the sound of my Martin D-28 as well as it's play-ability. Action is very fine and the sound is bold and fat. I have a concert Crafter...while the action on this guitar is good....the Zager is a bit better and the sound is much better. The ZAD20CE is lighter in weight as well.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Favorite part? That's tough since the whole guitar has so much to offer. You can play without hand soreness and that's good, because you don't want to put the instrument down! I WILL be using this guitar on my next recording session.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
The sound, construction and play-ability of this guitar is equal to those guitars ranging from $1,700 to $2,200.

How would you rate customer support?
The customer support is second to none! It is so refreshing to experience customerservice like this...very rare these days.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I WILL be showing off this guitar at up coming jam sessions and concerts. Folks need to see this guitar...folks need to hear this guitar....and most importantly...folks need to play Zager guitars!

I admit I was a little worried. But those reading this....throw your fears to the wind and try one of these guitars! You will be glad you did.

How did you hear about this brand?
I discovered your guitars on ebay while looking for other brands. I looked up your website and we emailed back and forth for over an hour. As you may recall, I first asked you if you made nylon string guitars. Your answer was no, and you explained the special string spacing and the comfortable neck. At 68years old, I want to learn how to play the guitar, and I thought if I started with a really good guitar, I might just stay with it until I could begin to play.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Well, I have no old guitars. However, I did go to several guitar stores and looked at a few. I asked one of the staff to play a little for me so that I could get a feel for how it would sound. They really didn't want to be bothered. When I went to your website you directed me to the place where you played many songs. They were the songs that I hope to play. I especially liked the playing style. Thank you for the attention that you gave to me with the emails and the informative website. Left alone in my search, I was beginning to be discouraged. Thank you for telling me that many of the songs played were on the zad20om. I was hooked and now I have my very own zad20om guitar.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Wow, my favorite part of the guitar, is how it looks and feels. I can't stop smiling when I have it in my hands. This may sound frivolous, but I'm just beginning to learn how to play. I'm looking forward to your on-line lessons. If you will permit me, I'll stay in touch through all the lessons and will better answer this question later,

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Now you've got me. I searched youtube to hear dozens of guitars. The sounds I liked were waaaay to expensive, and when I checked the guitars I could afford, I really didn't like the way they sounded, so I didn't buy them. To answer your question, well over a $1500.

How would you rate customer support?
I guess I have answered this question earlier. If first time buyers like me, who want to get the right guitar the first time, they need to spend some time with you. I clicked the flashing box that said you were on line, and you were there. More importantly you answered about a dozen questions, and pointed me in the right direction. If you will allow me to explain a little about my career, it will tell you about customer service. As you may know, many people have had their moments in the sun. The good Lord made me really good at what at what I did. I was a manufacturing consultant, and one of my duties was to help my clients improve their customer service. For some, it allowed them to turn around their business, and stay in business. For others, it made them much more profitable. The old adage, "They don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care" will always make you successful. You took the time necessary for me to feel good about my decision. In my world, education is a transfer of knowledge, and doing something with that knowledge is a transfer of skills. I have the right guitar, now I need to learn how to play it. and,- you are still there for me. In my experience, the best rating for customer support is, YES! Superior customer support.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
As much as I can. Because I'm retired, my sphere of influence is limited. However, I have a friend who has one of those really expensive guitars, and I've heard him play it. I can't wait for him to get a load of MY ZAGER! I hope he'll give it back. I'll let you know how it goes.

one of the best instruments for the money i have owned. good solid sound and construction, and the follow-up support has been exceptional so far. obviously they really care about pleasing customers. almost like having a friend in the business.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
sweet sound and finish and ease of play. i always wanted a nice guitar with a sunburst finish and now i have one.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$800 to $900. i was surprised it was much less.

How would you rate customer support?
so far it has been excellent. i had a couple questions about set-up and they were answered quickly. made me feel like i was their only customer.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
i would recommend the Zager instruments for three reasons . . . sound, ease of play, looks, cost and customer support. an especially sound investment for those on a tight budget.

unlike many purchases, where the product immediately begins to depreciate in condition and value right after purchase, a good instrument usually holds, or increases in value and even improves in tonality and playability after years of use and being well cared for. the Zager guitars appear to fit into this category. my oldest grandson, who plays guitar, has already laid claim to it upon my demise. he always looks on the cheerful side of things! gus walker 801 8th Ave. SE Decatur, AL 35601

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
This guitar plays easier than any other Martin I tried at my local Guitar Center, regardless of price. And, the rich bass and sustain rival that of $2000 models

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
My evaluation after 3 months, in order: 1- Easy playability ( I've had to train myself to press the strings easier because I was used to my older Alvarez which was an exercise in finger strength). 2- sound, very rich with great bass response and uniform sustain across the spectrum. 3- Looks and materials; it has the fine detail, workmanship and materials of much more expensive guitars. Honestly, I don't understand the appeal of a Martin, unless you're willing to spend $3000 or more.

$2000 or more

How would you rate customer support?
10 out of 10. I design customer support programs for a living so I know a little bit about this topic. Denny responds to your emails within hours. There's no transfer to a "Customer Support" department. You communicate directly with Denny Jr. See my additional comments below...pretty amazing.

Why Zager customer service is second to none and why you owe it to yourself to try a Zager: * I ordered a Zager Parlor...thought I'd like the smaller size, played it for a few days and wasn't happy. Wanted to try a ZAD20. * Denny sent me a pre-paid return mailing label, no questions asked, and shipped my new ZAD20 immediately, BEFORE I returned my Parlor (now that's trusting your customer!) * My new ZAD20 arrived, but didn't seem to play as advertised * I described the problem to Denny via email and he ASKED ME to please return it because "something didn't sound right." Again, he supplied a pre-paid return label. * My new ZAD20 arrived and I've enjoyed it ever since * Oh, yea, and each guitar comes with an extra set of Martin strings, 5 Zager oversized picks, Zager t-shirt * I also purchased the case, which is top-notch. I highly recommend you do the same.

Compared to my D-15 Martin, there is no comparison. I thought that it was easy to play, but when I took the Zegar out of the case...wow... I am totally amazed!!

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Everything!! It is beautiful, the sound is rich, and the electronics are incrediable.

I would estimate around $900 or more.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
It sounds and plays as well as some of the more expensive Martins and Seagulls I've tried out. It had to sound as good or better than my 1977 Alvarez, unplugged, or I wouldnt buy it.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Actually - the color. I forfeited the "cut-away" option to get the sunburst. It has all the "parts" of an expesnive guitar w/o the cost.

How would you rate customer support?
EXCELLENT!! Excellent customer support is extremely rare these days. In a very competitive business such as this, done well, it can pay off handsomely!! As a previous business onwer I speak from experience.

I could have paid more for the "higher level" model, but I already have a regular blond acoustic. This one suits me just fine. If Willie Nelson can play a Martin with 2 holes in it, I can play a Zager with one and "hang" just fine.

Review of my new ZAD-20 OM: I have been playing for 30 years or more. That said, I consider myself an average player. I've always become discouraged with certain chords that I was unable to use without a fret buzz. I came across Zager guitars by accident online. I thought I'd try one since there was nothing to lose due to an outstanding return policy. The reviews are all so good I wondered if they were genuine. They are! My Zager arrived by UPS 3 or 4 days after my order. The first thing that I loved was the awsome hard shell case with the Zager name molded into it. Quality inside and out. As soon as I picked up the guitar I noticed the neck was different. The thickness and shape just felt right to me. It felt much more comfortable than any other guitar I've held. I don't know how they do it, but the strings are so easy to press I instantly became a better player. Now I play longer without sore fingers or a fatigued chord hand. My callouses on my finger tips have also softened and I have sensation in them again. It also stays in tune longer than my other guitars. I own several acoustic guitars including a Martin and Yamaha. In my humble opinion the Zager sounds better than the Martin and every bit as good as the Yamaha. I'll keep them as guitars I can keep in open C or other tunings. I had a question regarding my new Zager guitar so I emailed Dennis Zager Jr and he responded within 5 minutes with an appropriate response. I only wish I'd discovered Zager guitars sooner. I also received extra strings, several picks and a Zager Guitars T-shirt. This package could sell for $1200 or more. Thank you Zager family.

I currently also own a Fender T-Bucket. The ZAD20cespecial is superior in tone and ease of play. The Fender is nice but I love the rich tone of the ZAD20. I'm also now able to play barre chords. On the Fender I can but is much more difficult and usually can't play them in a quick chord progression.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Ease of play and the rich tone. It looks good too!

Internet. I am a newbee and was looking for a good beginner guitar. Zager name popped up on a blog a nd I followed up. One of the best decisions I have ever made.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
First accoustic guitar purcahse ever. But within a month, I have bought three Zagers and exchanged one for another. It went like this: Bought ZAG80CE; bought the Parlor Mohagaony; Exhchanged the Parlor for ZAD20Black; Bought Travel Mahogany. And all of this without taking a lesson.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
So I ended up with a ZAG80CE; ZAG20Black; and Travel Mahogany. I love the way every one of them looks and sounds--even the Zager Travel. I travel a lot and have a beach house--so the 3/4 is a travel guitar. Fret board dimensions are essentially the same as full size and it plays great--some loss of sound quality do to downsizing but it earns its space in the line-up.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I have no idea. Went for my first guitar lesson ever today. Took the ZAG20. It was mostly an intro of where I want to go with lessons. After 20 minutes of chat, teacher said, so what the heck is in the case? She never heard of Zager. When I opened case, I got "ooh--very nice". She picked it up, played it and loved it: the sound and the ease of play. She loved it and so do I.

How would you rate customer support?
I have never dealt with more Customer-oriented people than I have at Zager. Hard to explain. But thtough numerous conversations with Denny, Denny JR. and others, it is obvious that they want to make customers happy. Case in point: when I told Denny Jr via email that I didnt want the Zager Parlor I had bought, he said they will do whatever I want. When I said I wanted ZAD20Black, they immediately shipped it, and then sent UPS return slip to me via email. In other words, they sent a replacement before I returned original. All I can say is, incredible. I now have full confidence in doing business with the Zagers and would recommend them to anybody for any thing. They are terrific.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would recommend it, and already have, to anyone who will listen. I went to Sam Ash and have played well over fifty accoustics priced from $100 to $2000. I have no concerns in recommending any of my purchases to anyone.

Additional comments:
I am an auditor by trade--very skeptical and leary about anything I don't know. It was a big leap of faith for me to buy my first Zager--and number two and then three were rather easy. Still early in the game for me--but I have no regrets whatsoever. This is virtually a no risk transaction and it is hard for me to believe that most who buy at Zager will not be totally satisfied. Don't know what else to say--but I have never had a buying experience like this--NEVER!!!!

A friend of mine recommended Zager to me. He knew I was in the market for a new guitar and had heard of Zager.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
This guitar is amazing. I researched and played a few guitars before finally deciding on this Zager. The worksmanship and quality of the Zager is amazing and I am impressed with the detail work put into it. I played some a Martin around the time of purchasing this guitar and consider it to be as solid of quality as the Martin.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I really like the EZ play system and the thin neck and frets. It truly sets the playability of this guitar apart. I am also a fan of the electronics and the solid wood, especially the cedar top.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$2500-$3000, it plays very near the quality of a $2500 Martin and I prefer the Zager.

How would you rate customer support?
Zager customer support is through the roof. Customer care and support sold me on Zager almost as much as the guitar. I love the money back guarantee (though I can't imagine ever using it). Denny Jr. is the master at making the customer feel appreciated.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
This is a quality instrument that competes well with the big boys. Zager delivers an exceptional product and I can't imagine being disappointed with the product. Anyone looking for an incredible guitar at an affordable price needs to look into Zager.

When UPS delivered my new Zager it felt like I was opening a Mac. I loved the simple way that Zager makes the customer feel like King. Having purchased the ZAD80 I cannot imagine how well the ZAD900 series plays. Zager makes an incredible guitar.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Although I have always primarily been an electric and classical player, I have owned several acoustics in the past - namely a Daion and a Martin Sigma. I consider both previous guitars to be good guitars that I purchased only after trying dozens of other brands and models. That being said, the Zager guitar is clearly on another level. Even allowing for the fact that it was in a price bracket above my previous guitars; I would put it equal or above the finest guitars that I have tried. Perhaps reminiscent of the top-end Ovations that I loved, but never bought due to the price.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The sound stands out. While the setup and Easy Play aspects are great, when I am playing, their contribution is more a lack of intrusion or hindrance to my playing. The sound, however, is extremely clean and clear. Whether playing finger style or with a pick, the guitar has a bright, clear sound that allows good separation of parts and ringing chords. I envision the guitar sounding better still with use and age.

1200 +

How would you rate customer support?
Support is excellent. Thoughtout the process, Dennis Zager sent emails updating the status of the order and also promptly answered any questions I had.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would defnately reccomend a Zager guitar to anyone looking for an acoustic. I especially think that this would be the perfect acoustic for electric players looking for their first acoustic. The neck and action are closer to the feel of a good electric than most other acoustics, and so would make for a seamless entry.

My other current guitar is a 20 year old Yamaha FG-411S which has been a workhorse. I have been looking for something that may be somewhat easier on my chording hand, though and the Zager feels great. Plays much easiier than my old 1978 model Ovation.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It has a great sound! That's what's most important about a guitar. But being easier to play is an incredible bonus. Oh, by the way, the mahogany finish is fantastic!

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
At least twice what I paid.

How would you rate customer support?
Is there an eleven on a 10 point scale? I've never done business with anyone who tries harder at making you comfortable and secure with a purchasing decision. Better than 1st class.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes, I would. Even if it hadn't been what I was looking for, I would have recommended the company. But, it's exactly what I wanted...sound, playability and looks.

This was my first Zager (not sure if it will be my last or not. I may not ever want to let this one go to pick up another). If I ever do look for another guitar, Zager will get the first look. I currently have an Ovation 1868 Elite. I love both and will continue to play it, BUT, it's hard to put the Zager down, there is NO comparison as far as playability! NO COMPARISON!!! I'm sure my other guitars will start collecting a little dust!

My favorite part is the playability. So effortless, my Martin and Ovation both play great, BUT,the Zager is like driving a luxury car...with the cruise control on! Able to do things I have never done before, a true quality instrument!

If I were in a music shop, and picked up this guitar and played it for 30 minutes, I would not been surprised to see a $1000-$1500 price tag on it...and I would probably pay that!

Haven't had it long enough to need customer support, but I can already tell the Zagers will bend over backwards to help! A true pleasure to deal with!

In 1 word-OUTSTANDING! It's slightly softer in tone than my Yamaha but extremely pleasant. I feel it exceeds what I've tried in stores.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The playability. I have a bad left hand and the lower string height along with the thinner neck really makes playing much more enjoyable and comfortable. A 2nd note, the wood coloring is just beautifully done, very professional.

I'd guess it to be in the $800-$1000 range.

The best I've ever experienced. Denny was extremely quick and helpful with his responses. No sugar-coating, he was up-front and honest on every issue I brought up to him. Even befor shipping out my guitar he sent a picture for approval. I only have 1 suggestion-Do not change a thing!

This guitar is SO much fun to play. I have a hard time putting it down. For me that's the big key. I've had reasonably nice acoustic guitars that look good and sound good, but I was never reliable in my playing with them.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
A LOT! The 3 biggest things for me are: how easy licks are for me to play, no errors and fun, / I LOVE how easy it is to finger-pick, / strumming produces a nice complete sound. The strings don't sound like they are competing with each other.

Hard to answer because I've denied myself from testing really expensive guitars because I know I won't pay that much for one. I can honestly say that I've played guitars in this price range and the Zager is FAR superior in every respect.

I was in the market for a smaller OM style guitar and was looking for the best price on a Martin 00/000 (which I had played and had mixed emotions based on the price and the playability. I own a Washburn and a Takamine and also had a Yamaha (that was stolen). I have to say that I cannot find a guitar that matches the playability, looks, sound and size even close to the price. And frankly I would still pick the Zager over the other brands if cost wasn't an issue.

The playability is amazing, I can play for hours and not feel any hand fatigue.

Amazing! The response time is like nothing I've experienced anywhere. Within minutes of an email I got a detailed response. I tend to ask many questions, and given that I was buying a guitar site unseen or played, Dennis allayed all my concerns. I even got buyers remorse before it arrived because of all the negative talk out there on the message boards. With the money back guarantee, that became a non-issue.

I can't say enough good things about this guitar. I have been playing for 25 years and owned almost every vintage electric style out there. I wasn't as much of an "acoustic guy". When I decided that I wanted to get a smaller acoustic model and found what I was looking for with Zager, now it's all I want to play. The sound and playability are like nothing I've played. I brought it to a friends house recently who is a Berklee grad and his first response was "shoot now I need to buy another guitar". He had just bought a 2k Gibson, which is a gorgeous guitar, but for under $200 the Zager nails it.

my other guitar is a Ibanes AW-30 full size which my wife got me . i never played before and never felt comfortable with the size , being only five four created a reach problem . The 20om fits me just right . the sound and quality design of the Zager far out reach the Ibanez in this novices opinion . it is like comparing leather shoes to synthetic . no comparison . the tone alone was worth the purchase . ease of play will yet to be determined as i am a beginner but the om design does not make me feel awkward or intimidated .

I searched the Internet looking for guitars that were easy to play. In the past, all my hopes to play a guitar were eventually cut short by tender fingertips. I thought I would give Zager a try judging from reviews I had read.

There is no comparison. My last guitar was not especially cheap and had a decent sound when played but was very difficult to practice on. I changed strings multiple times but that was not the answer. I bought the Zager Zad80ce nearly a year ago and am totally satisfied. It plays easily, looks absolutely beautiful and the case is substantial to protect my investment. The case even comes with an electronic temperature and humidity device to keep track of storage conditions to help protect my investment.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I am most impressed by how well manufactured the guitar is. It is absolutely beautiful in fit and finish. Looking down the neck you can see the production accuracy that comes as the result of individual attention from a seasoned Luthier and precision craftsmen.

On finally seeing the guitar and holding it in my hand, I would have guessed the price hundreds of dollars higher. I have been through countless music stores looking at guitars. My new Zager sounds much richer and carries the fit and finish of much more expensive guitars.

Customer support is wonderful. I mostly have communicated through email when I was trying to decide on models. I also have signed up for the guitar lessons (which are the most effective techniques I have ever studied). If ever there is a question, a technical issue or something I didn't understand, I had a friendly, intelligent email response sometimes in minutes but always in short order.

I would, without a doubt, recommend this guitar. You really have to see it, hold it in your hand and hear its wonderful full, bright and clear tones to appreciate it. It really is easy to play, has onboard tuner, high end pickups and well, it's just a work of art.

I came upon Zager Guitars purely by accident. I had been considering a new guitar for some time and came across a Martin retail store demo available on Ebay. It seemed like a good deal and I actually placed the order for it, but being New Year's weekend, the order did not get processed right away. When I went to the website the next day to "look at it again", by chance I saw the Ebay ad for the Zager ZAD20 series guitars and started looking at them more closely. The more I read, the more intrigued I got. After reading the many testimonials - and of the complete satisfaction guarantee - I cancelled my Martin guitar order and, on leap of faith, went for the ZAD20 Natural.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the quality of the case - solid, well made, truly protective, well worth the price. Out of the case the guitar was impressive! Construction was precise, clean and of high quality. I actually scrutinized the guitar for imperfections of any kind and found NOTHING! The finish was gorgeous - comparable to what I've seen in the most pricey guitars I've drooled over but could not afford. When I started playing, I was floored! The sound - crisp, full, rich, BIG! The playability - I never played so "clean", with so much less effort! Compared to my 31 year old (now cracked) Ovation Balladeer - and the many $800+ guitars that I've tried out over the years - the sound and the playability of the ZAD20 was strickingly superior. I was in Memphis several years ago and tried out a few guitars in the Gibson Factory Store after taking a tour of the factory. I almost bought one of the "low end" acoustics (for around $700)and am glad I didn't. Beside the fact that the low end models had not been manufactured in the factory I had just toured, in hindsight the finish was not nearly as meticulous as the ZAD20, the sound of the ZAD is fuller and richer, and the playability of ZAD20 is, at least for me and my style, far superior.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
What I love the most about my new ZAD20 is the sound and the playability. I have been playing at an intermediate level for over 30 years, and have played friends' instruments, tried out many guitars in various stores, not to mention all those years of playing my Ovation( which, incidently, never sounded as good as the ZAD20, even when it was new). The tone, the fullness, and the sustain, and the amazing playability of this ZAD20 surpass everything else I have played. The look and finish of the guitar top it all off and result in a complete instrument that can be played and displayed with confidence and pride.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Having had some exposure over the years to several high-end guitars, if I had seen and played the ZAD20 without any prior knowledge, I would have estimated its price to be at least around $1000. This instrument sets a new bar for the definition of "value".

How would you rate customer support?
I have had this guitar for almost one month and have had no issues that required customer support. However, if the quick reply to my email to Denny Zager to express my initial safisfaction is any indication, I suspect that any issues would be addressed equally expediently.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would, without hesitation, recommend this guitar to anyone who has either a serious desire to learn, or anyone who has been playing and is looking for an upgrade. Many new students might be tempted to purchase what may appear to be an inexpensive, "descent", beginner guitar, only to be discouraged by an instrument that is hard to play, does not hold tune very well, and does not even sound very rewarding. Do it right from the start! The ZAD20 is a tremendous value. If you then find that playing guitar is not for you - for whatever reason that I could not imagine - then at least you can confidently rule out that it was not the instrument itself that contributed to that decision. For someone who has been playing and is looking for a step up, all I can say is, "Get a Zager!" When you receive it, everything you already love about playing guitar will most certainly be magnified.

I am already looking forward to the prospect of upgrading... My daughter seems to be showing a serious interest in learning guitar. If that interest pans out, I will have no choice but to give her the best opportunity for success by offering her my ZAD20, and looking to a ZAD80 for myself.

Dennis Jr. sent me a heavier set of strings but I also bought a piezo headstock tuner that cured the problem. There was no problem with the guitar itself and they broke their backs helping me. I have been playing for 35+ years. Because of chronic arthritis, I wanted a playable small acoustic. This replaces my Takamine EAN10c which has a gorgeous tone but to me is now unplayable. The Parlor is exactly what I was looking for. A porch or recliner guitar. If I still could play out, I would mic it. It's that good! Only paid $375!! Got the hard case with the humidity sensor for $96. No tax, no shipping! The tee shirt I got was white in XL. I gave it to my wife. Ordered a XXL in black and got more picks! I can't understand how they make any money. Buy one!!

The tone and playability is outstanding. I have played guitar with a friend that has a $2,200 Martin and my Zager guitar can hold its own.

I would estimate my guitar was worth at least $1,000, although I paid hundreds less.

Dennis and Dennis Jr. have the most incredible service and support system that I have ever seen. They obviously are passionate about bringing the public a great product and stand behind their guitars 100%. I cannot believe how committed these guys are to customer service after the sale. I think every service company should take a chapter from their playbook on what it means to provide customer service. I really don't know when these guys find time to sleep.

Oddly enough, my brother had heard about them from the internet. He did a lot of research and thought I should check them out since I was looking for a new guitar.

Well, this is an easy question to answer, every guitar that I liked or that was recommended to me was usually well beyond what I had to spend or was a cheap copy of them. With that said none of them had the playability of the Zager or craftsmanship. Now don't get me wrong I looked at some beautifull guitars that sounded lovely but were way out of my price range, and none of them played as well.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Now this is a harder question to answer, they sound so full, are so well built yet the ease of play is remarkable. So saying I like just one thing is hard to say. I am no proffesional nor by some standards not even a guitar player, but I know what I like and I like all there is about my Zager, it's truly a work of art..

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
After looking at all the fine guitars out there that I had on my list of likes, or should I say should check out, it would be easy to assume without knowing that this guitar would be in the $2,500 to $3,500 range.

If you are not already thinking about then this should make the case for you to look seriously at one of these beauties, Denny and his son will make sure are treated like family. Heaven forbid you have a problem I can assure you they will take care of you. The Zager's are no fly by night outfit, they are very caring people and your satisfaction is #1. I have owned numerous acoustics in the 15 or so years I have been playing. Including an Ibanez AEF18NT, Ovation celebrity custom, and a Martin. As far as the action goes my Zager blows all of them out of the water. It is reliable, it was inexpensive, and it looks great. My Martin's tone is hard to match but for the price it ought to be.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The action by far, it is amazing! It plays faster than my Schecter CSH-1 semi hollow electric. I love the fact that I can practice for hours with very little strain on my fingers without having to sacrifice tone to do so.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
At least $900!

I've been playing guitar over 40 years and currently own 10 guitars including a Martin Custom and a Gallagher G45. The Martin has been reworked moving the action as low as possible without any buzzing. My zad20e is equal to the Martin's playability, however the Martin's sound is almost muffled compared to the bright vibrant sound of the Zager. And that's with new strings on both.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Ease of play and sound can't be beat. Also the handy string tuner works great.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I've played $1200 to $1800 guitars that did not play as well

How would you rate customer support?
I did not need any, however all email questions prior to receiving the guitar were answered very quickly.

the last guitar i had was very hard to play. Being that it wasn't expensive,strings hard to push and the neck was too wide. When I opened the case of the ZAD-20 it was obvious that it was a quality product. Also being that it was on the low end of your line of guitars this guitar anyone would be proud to own.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The one that I bought was the solid black,it is absolutly beautiful. It has a slim neck with strings that you don't have to force. I still cannot get over the looks and feel of this product, I was pleasantly surprised.

Being that it is an acoustical I would price it in the 800 to 1000 dollar range.

It's a little different than my others, which is what I was looking for. I own a 93 Guild F30, a Takamine EF341SC and a Fender ESD-10 Dreadnaught. I wanted something that fit somewhere in the middle for gig's. This fit the bill perfectly.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The whole package is nicely done. The sound is it;s own, and the Neck is nicely set with Binding, and the frets are nicely dressed. As a professional musician here in NY, Any guitar I get usually needs some tweaking to "my" spec's. This was closer than most right out of the box. Grover Tuners and Tusk nut and Bridge come standard.

This would feel like a $899 - $999 GC special...

How would you rate customer support?
Top notch, when I fist sent an e-mail to them, I never thought I;d hear back, or it would take a week or two for an automated response. 20 minutes later Dennis Zager jr. sent me an e-mail. He is right on the money. Their CS is second to none in any business.

I have two vintage Guild acoustic 6 strings I still play a lot and have had for many years...I have also had Gibson Epiphone Electric...and a good Yamaha that was owned by a celebrity...which I gave to my son-in-law.

EVERYTHING! I am so thankful to God for the beautiful sunburst color, the great style and design, the built in tuner, pickup and controls, and the way it plays is so tremendous...and the sound is beautiful...both as acoustic and when plugged in for amplification!!!!

I would say $1,200.00 to $1,500.00...This by far and matches or excels the Martin's.

I purchased the 900CE. I have owned several guitars since I was a young boy. I am now 51 years old. I have owned several brands of acoustics (including a non-electric Fender and an electric Esteban). I have played Martins in the last few weeks at music stores in the Houston area. Both brands played very well. The Zegar 900CE is no doubt the best playing and sounding of ANY I have played.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It's difficult to zero in on one part. Let me say that from the exquisite details of the Venetian Cutaway, the Sitka Spruce Top, the Indian Rosewood back and sides, Hand Bent Figured Maple Binding, African Mahogany with Inlay, the Hand Scalloped bracework, the Full Abalone Inlay, Pearl Fret Marker, Figured Maple Inlay (back), High Gloss Finish, Truss Rod, 2011 Fishman AURA Electronics, Built In Equalizer, Genuine Grover Tuning, Zager Hand Carved Nut, Zager Custom Lights Strings (by Martin), Zager Soft Touch (hand filed) Frets, and the Lifetime Warranty. I said all that to say....EVERYTHING. By the way, I have not fully taken in everything yet!

Based on my research and seeing the prices of guitars I played in music stores in Houston, I would have to estimate this guitar to be $5000 plus.

I am Operations Manager for a company here in Houston. I have to deal with people all day long for all kinds of reasons. BAR NONE...Dennis and Jill have gone far beyond the NORM in helping me with everything. There is a reason they are rated #1 in customer support. This is a beautifully appointed solid mahogany guitar that compares very favorably with all of my other guitars, all of which are Martins (D-19, D-41, OM-41sp). It is loud and crisp yet balanced. It would not be fair to compare it directly to the other OM I own because that is a much higher end instrument, and also a rosewood guitar. But the 20 OM by Zager is a superb instrument in sound, and very easy to play. I did change out the strings it came with to regular lights (Martin Lifespan) and, for me, that made a huge difference. Great guitar!

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The playability. Once I put on my favorite set of strings and tweaked the truss rod a bit it became exceptionally easy to play. And it is beautiful to look at; stained mahogany and natural spruce top are a very nice combination; the abalone rosette is really nice.

If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
If I was handed this guitar without knowing it was a Zager I think I would have probably assumed it was a Larrivee or comparable and would have expected to pay between $850 and $1,000.

How would you rate customer support?
Customer support -- only the very best I have ever experienced. Astonishing, really! Immediate response to email, quick to help out. Dennis handles things personally and I have never been so well looked after.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Absolutely. For the nay-sayers and those who immediately think Zager guitars are second rate I suggest you take another look. You would have NOTHING to lose. I will tell you honestly that I was completely prepared to take advantage of their offer -- no strings attached money back and they pay shipping BOTH WAYS if you don't like the guitar. Suffice to say I am keeping mine.

The guitar I bought is to be the first nice acoustic guitar for my 15 year-old son, who mainly plays electric. He is a fine player, and I needed to find something that had a slimmer neck (I prefer the V-neck on my OM-41, but my son is used to a Strat and Les Paul) -- and it needs to sound great because he's played my Martins and he has a great ear. What I got for my $200 is AMAZING.
